Stone arts are not for everyone, as it is a very time-consuming, costly, and labor-intensive art form. Stone arts is not just a craft that one can pick up and learn at their leisure.
There are many styles, materials and processes involved and each requires a certain level of skill. One should not attempt stone arts unless they have the right tools, adequate space, and the necessary skills and experience to get it right.
But this is not the case for Callum Gray, as he indeed has a passion for stone arts.

Callum Gray may have studied Computer Sciences, but it was clearly not his calling. Gray is a drystone waller and landscaper. He works on large and small-scale projects across the UK.
He has established an impressive portfolio using traditional techniques to design and build home and garden features. Which was popularly called Callum Gray Stone works.
The fire pit you see here has won him international recognition at the 2012 Balvenie Masters of Craft awards at the Savoy Hotel in London.
To prove that wasn’t a fluke, he was part of the winning team (along with Australian master landscaper, Phillip Johnson), who took out Gold and ‘Best of Show’ awards at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show.
The team has created a breathtaking masterpiece, truly deserving of the win. It cannot be denied – Callum Gray has talent. It’s highly obvious in his works.
We have also featured other examples of his work here so that you can see the depth of his talents. Up until now he enjoys building numerous stone landscapes. He designs and builds indoor fireplaces, as well.
Whether we are talking about Masonry or Stone cutting, it is common knowledge that both these professions are very technical and require a lot of time and determination to get perfect.
One important thing to know is that Masonry is the work of stacking stones and cutting is the work of cutting stones according to different specifications. And this is where Callum Gray became the best version of himself as a landscaper.
And he can’t be stopped! He continues to test and expand his talent in other forms of stone art such as letter cutting. We see more recognition on the horizon…

Stone walls are not just about looks, but also about the legends that come with them. And the name of Callum Gray will surely stand out when it comes to stone walls.
