Pssst! Want a cheap greenhouse? How does $50 sound? If you want to have one but don’t want to spend a lot buying one, build your own! You can build this plant house by recycling scrap materials from previous projects. And even if you decide to buy new materials for this DIY project, you’d still spend a lot less than buying a greenhouse.
What is a Greenhouse?
A greenhouse is a conservatory that is most commonly used in commercial farming and the study of Botany. Nowadays, these are also used in backyard gardening. A conservatory that protects the plants from excessive cold or heat by allowing the sun rays to enter and preserving the warm temperature even on cold days. While its transparent walls also prevent too much heat from the sunlight, too much water from the rainy days, and too much snow from the outside to enter the inside.
The transparent walls only allow limited sun rays, which controls the excessive UV rays to the plants. The “greenhouse effect” occurs when the transparent film creates a microclimate within this conservatory by trapping the sunlight and warming the air inside.
A DIY greenhouse is the most efficient and economical plant house we can have. This conservatory is a great way to extend the growing season. At just 50 dollars, it can provide your plants with a good growing environment for most of the year. Adding artificial heat during cold weather is optional. The builder of this conservatory never used one and did not have any problems with growing his produce.
Snow? Not a problem. By adding a ridge at the middle top of your structure, this plant house can withstand heavy snow.
