If you’ve ever driven a screw halfway through your board because you forgot to adjust the torque on your drill, you’ll appreciate this new arrival in the handyman section of your tool shop.
This new cordless drill from Black & Decker sure comes in handy for DIY projects. It has autosense technology, with a drive and drill mode, which buries your screws just right. No more trial and error with setting the clutch. You can now do the job with greater accuracy and speed. These modes can be chosen through the LED display that also indicates your battery life.
Speaking of the battery, this little gun has excellent staying power. You can have a full battery within 3 to 4 hours, and then do several jobs with it before you charge it again.
The unit is well designed with its nice feel and grip. With about 4 pounds of weight, including the battery, work can be finished with less hand strain. As a bonus, this drill is also equipped with a LED light that serves as a flashlight whenever you are working on dark areas – less eye strain, too!
As with all things, it’s not perfect. If you’re used to high-end tools you may find this a little sluggish, but on a ‘bang for bucks’ basis, it offers a great solution for most DIYers.
