La Moraleja Madrid Spain – Architect unknown
Lot size: 2,627 m2 (28,372 sq. ft.)
Built area: 875 m2 (9,450 sq. ft.)
We saw this on Knight Frank’s site quite a few months back. Our memory may be faulty but we think it was listed at €10 million. The good news for all you cashed up buyers is that it’s still on the market with a current asking price of ‘just’ €7.75 million. Before you rush off to buy it, you might want to read the agent’s description:
(The home) offers the highest quality of fixtures and fittings with a lift providing access to all levels. The main floor features an entrance hall, guest bath with Philippe Starck sanitary fittings, a spacious reception room with fireplace designed in 2 ambiances with large windows overlooking the swimming pool and landscaped gardens, dining room, porch and state-of-the art island kitchen with breakfast room. This level also benefits from an outside dining area for summertime enjoyment.
The ground floor includes a guest suite with direct access from the exterior, staff apartment, home cinema projection room, gym and garage.
The second storey features 2 bedroom suites, including the 130 square metre master with a sitting area and 16 square metre dressing room as well as a large bathroom with a Philippe Starck designed bathtub and separate shower. The top floor comprises 2 additional bedroom suites of approximately 50 square metres each and a terrace.
Now, while we definitely like a lot about this home, we have a very strong suspicion that it is still listed well above replacement cost – especially if a talented owner-builder is involved and one is willing to forego a designer label or two. What do you say?
