Forget picture frames and use the timber\u00a0you have at home instead for an absolutely unique look!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4766\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood08.jpg\" alt=\"Transfer photos on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Transferring a photo to a piece of wood takes around 20 minutes. What we like more about this idea\u00a0is that you can customize the look any way you want it &#8212; your imagination is the limit! You can paint the timber\u00a0any colour you like and even use special effects and patterns! \u00a0And, of course,\u00a0you can shape the wood to match the mood and content of your photo.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the things you need&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Piece(s) of Wood<\/li>\n<li>Paint (your choice of color)<\/li>\n<li>Ribbon<\/li>\n<li>Super glue<\/li>\n<li>Sandpaper<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Elmer\u2019s Glue<\/li>\n<li>A container to shake the water and glue in<\/li>\n<li>Printed pictures on regular printer paper (Sepia and B&amp;W photos look best)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tools:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paint brushes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4759\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood02.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photo on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the supplies is bought, take the pieces of wood and paint them any color of your choice. I found using sponge paint brushes leave less streaks throughout this whole process. Using black for black and white pictures looks really neat but I had left over pale blue paint and decided to use that this time to see how they turned out.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4760\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood03.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photos on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"739\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While your paint is drying go ahead and get your supplies for mixing up your own homemade Hod Podge. This is much cheaper and really easy to make. Just take Elmer\u2019s glue and water and pour the same amount of each into a container and shake it up! (Just a side note, this mixture will dry with a matte finish).<\/p>\n<p>Continued&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4761\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood23.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photos on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"550\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cut your printed picture down to the desired size and use the Hod Podge to secure it to the piece of paper, keep in mind when you paint the Hod Podge on to the back of the paper the paper curls up so I recommend painting it onto the wood and then placing the picture down.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4762\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood06.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photo on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"605\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Take sand paper of your choice keeping in mind lower numbered sand paper is rougher and will distress the paper more and higher numbers have a finer grit. Use the sand paper to go around the edges of the picture and wood to give it a vintage look and blend it in to the wood until you are satisfied, in my opinion you can&#8217;t really mess this part up.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4763\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood07.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photo on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"1040\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then taking your Hod Podge, with the paint brush, apply it directly over the picture and the front of the wooden piece.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4764\" src=\"http:\/\/project.theownerbuildernetwork.co\/files\/2017\/03\/Transfer-Photo-on-Wood01.jpg\" alt=\"Steps on how to transfer photo on wood\" width=\"800\" height=\"1067\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, super glue two pieces of ribbon on the back and tie them up in a cute bow to hang on any wall!
