Can you believe that this table with a living centrepiece was made from recycled pallets and some old table legs?

Succulents are drought-tolerant plants that can survive on very little water, making them ideal for containers. Succulents are more than just cactus plants but are often confused with them.

They are part of the succulent and cacti family and come in different shapes, sizes and colours.

DIY Succulent Pallet Table

There are many great reasons to use succulents in your home decor. Some of the top reasons are:

They are interesting to look at, give off a nice aroma, and require little care. They are simple to care for. A succulent requires very little care. If a succulent is placed in the right environment and given the right amount of light, it should thrive without much attention.

They can be placed in any room of the house. Succulents can be placed on a windowsill, coffee table, countertop, or floor. The possibilities are endless. Since pallets are easy to find, making a succulent table using recycled pallets is an innovative idea.

Creating your own table from pallets is a really popular and easy way to add a personal touch to your home furniture. Since pallets are reusable, manufacturers usually treat them for a long life cycle. This means that when used for furniture, you’ll get something that will last!

Building this table won’t cost you a lot of money as it’s made from reclaimed pallets and old table legs. What makes this table special aside from being environment friendly is the living centrepiece.

The planter is designed to be removable so the table can be easily transported. It’s also great for entertaining! Take out the planter and place an inbuilt cooler to keep your drinks and food chilled, so you can stay with the party rather than running to the fridge all the time.

If you have an old table that does not serve its purpose, you can use its legs to be able to create a great planter. This is a project that requires a little work but the result will be amazing.

Start by separating the legs from the table and then, remove the nails with a hammer or a crowbar. Next, separate the table legs from the rest of the table and sand them if it is necessary.

Prepare your pallets, you may need an extra or two depending on how many planters you need. Remove the centre of the pallet to make way for the succulent planter. This comes in handy with the use of a hammer.

You can use the angle brackets to make your planter table as sturdy as possible. One way to make sure your DIY planter table doesn’t collapse on you is to use angle brackets to reinforce it.

This supports the table against the force of the soil pushing down on it – trust me, after a few months, there’s going to be a lot of force!

Finish it off by adding soil to your planter and start decorating it with your most lovely succulents. What more could you ask for? Start your DIY project on the weekends.
